The Unbilled Work Review.
One billing month — about to close, or closed: the extra work your clients asked for, compared with your contracts and invoices. Your controller decides every charge.
Fixed fee, agreed in writing before we start. You provide the agreed records — usually exports you already have · Miko compares them; a Miko reviewer checks every item.
Who it fits
- B2B or retail-compliance warehousing
- Clients ask for extra work by email, phone or through a supervisor
- You name the person who decides every charge — a controller, office manager or you (we call them your controller)
- Billing and work records export to a spreadsheet
What you provide
- The month's invoice lines and any credits
- Work orders or task records for the month
- Rate cards and contract pages for the clients in scope
- The month's request folder or request log
- Answers to a few short written questions while we review
- Your controller's review of the proposed charges — we agree the meetings before starting
What you get
- A review record — a spreadsheet, one row per request, like the sample — with each item's supporting records, what's missing, the contract terms that apply, and any proposed charge for your controller to decide
- Totals by outcome, and the number of requests reviewed
- Questions about how extra-work requests move from the floor to billing — the process, not the people
- A written recommendation — including “a process change is enough” when that's the answer
Seven outcomes
- Already billed
- The work appears on an invoice line.
- Billed twice
- The same completed work appears billed twice in the invoices you provide — not separate charges the contract allows. Your controller decides whether to correct it.
- Covered by an existing rate
- The contract includes it in a rate you already charge.
- Waived
- Deliberately not charged — your controller's decision, or a documented waiver in the contract.
- Not supported by the records
- The records don't support a charge — the request, the completed work or a contract basis is missing.
- Proposed charge
- Records support a charge; your controller decides.
- Unclear
- Records conflict or are incomplete; your controller decides.
The fee
Focused
$750
- One client account
- Up to 40 extra-work requests
Standard
$2,000
- Up to three client accounts
- Up to 120 extra-work requests
A request is one distinct client ask for extra work, however many units or messages — separate asks in one email count separately; a rough count is fine, we confirm the scope before signing.
Quoted separately, before anything is agreed: more than three client accounts, or more than 120 requests in the month; records that need extra preparation before they can be compared; a second month, or a review of the months before it.
The terms
- Before you pay
- A free readiness check: send your exports' column headers (no data) and we check the columns the review needs are there.
- Scope and price
- Agreed before signing. Any later change needs a separate written quote and your approval — no automatic additional charges.
- Payment
- Due at signing, by card or ACH. Invoice and W‑9 on request — tell us before signing about any other accounts payable requirements.
- Timing
- You get a target delivery date on the fit call, based on your system and volume, confirmed in writing once we've checked your files are complete.
- Refunds
- A full refund before you send any files. Once files arrive, we check them before review work starts — if they can't support the review: send what's missing, a smaller scope, or a full refund.
- Little found
- The fee covers the completed review, even when little is found. No percentage of anything billed or collected, and no ongoing commitment.
Alongside the billing setup you already have
It looks for extra work your clients asked for that may not have reached an invoice, in the records you provide — and the recommendation says when a process or setup change may be worth considering.
What we don't do
- Contact your clients
- Send invoices
- Change anything in your systems
- Promise any amount
Compared with the alternatives
- Doing it yourself
- Your team can compare the same records internally. With the review, a Miko reviewer checks every item in the agreed scope and lays out the records behind each one; your controller decides every charge.
- Invoice audits for brands
- Brand-side audits check a brand's 3PL invoices on the brand's behalf, for a fixed fee or a share of what's recovered. The Unbilled Work Review is commissioned by the warehouse, for a fixed fee.
From call to review
- 01Fit callTwenty minutes: your role, your system, the kinds of extra work, who decides. No records.

- 03Sign and payThe package or quoted scope, client accounts, month, fee, required records and data terms, in writing. You sign and pay before you send us any files.

- 06Your decisionsYour controller decides every charge. Then we walk through the review record, the totals by outcome, open questions and the written recommendation.
